How To Lose Belly Fat Fast!

Many people start their fitness journey with their goal being to lose belly fat.

Losing my belly was high on my list of goals when I first started.

I’ve never really had a completely flat belly, even as a kid.

I always had a little fupa, and I always wanted it gone.

When I gained weight my belly got really big to the point where it sat in my lap, and that was where I drew the line.

I was like heeeeelll naw, this can’t stay here.

I know you can relate to that

So, the topic for today is how to lose belly fat FAST.

Let’s talk about it.

I often get asked this question, and it can get kind of annoying sometimes, honestly.

I try to be more understanding, though, because I know that I was in the same place and mindset in the past.

People always say “ How can I lose my belly? I ONLY want to get rid of my belly fat”

I’m about to be one hundred with you guys because I didn’t come here to sugar coat anything or sell you lies like many influencers do today.

What Won’t Work

Let’s start with an example.

Let’s say you saw online a flat belly workout.

I see em all the time on Pinterest.

You thought it looked easy and you’ve been wanting to lose your belly for years so you decided to give it a try.

The workout consisted of crunches, Russian twists, sit ups, leg lifts, and flutter kicks.

It says “do these workouts if you want a flat belly.”

You’re thinking these are all ab workouts so this is what I should be doing since I only want to lose my belly.

You start doing that workout for a week, then 2 weeks, then 3, then 4.

You look at yourself and wonder why you aren’t seeing any changes.

So you stop.

That’s a generic example that even I fell victim to many times before.

So let’s get into why that workout aint gonna do shit.

Ab exercises work your abs. 

Your muscles.

They break down the muscles there, and your body repairs them stronger than they were before.

So doing ab workouts may make your abs stronger, but they will not burn the fat there. 

They don’t do anything for the fat.

You have to be in a caloric deficit to burn fat. 

You can do 100 crunches and it won’t do a single fucking thing 


ESPECIALLY if your diet is shit.

Unfortunately, ab workouts don’t burn enough calories to make that much of a difference in regards to fat, and if you aren’t eating good on top of that, then it really is just a pointless task added into your schedule

Now I’m not encouraging you to take the easy way out. I’m hoping you will decide to make a lifestyle change instead, but if you only want your belly gone you are better off getting some kind of liposuction.

Starting a fitness journey is not the route to take if that’s ALL that you want

it’s not going to happen the way you think.

** Y’all. 

My belly was the LAST thing to go even though I wanted it to go first.

The first changes I noticed were on my back.

My butt, thighs, and my face all got smaller before my belly even budged.

Even though a goal of mine was to get rid of belly fat, I could not just decide that it was all that I was going to lose or even the first thing.

You can’t either.

Now I had to learn the hard way, but I’m telling you so you don’t have to waste time and energy doing something that is not going to yield the results that you are after.

You can’t spot reduce.

That means that you cannot pick one spot on your body, decide that you want to burn fat there only, start doing workouts that target that area, and expect only that area to lose fat.

It does not happen that way, usually.

(There may be special cases, but I don’t have any knowledge of any)

Your body is going to burn fat all over. 

It is going to change all over.

In places that you may have not even thought about.

You don’t get to decide where.

** Let me tell you.. I was not concerned in the least about my legs. 

After looking at progress photos I noticed that my legs were more toned and I didn’t have cellulite anymore.

Was I happy about it?

Hell yeah. Lol

It actually made me want to start showing off my legs

Even though it wasn’t a priority of mine, they looked really good, and much better than I thought they did before.

And here I was crying about my belly thinking that what I was doing wasn’t working, but the whole time it was, 

just not where I wanted at the moment.

And honestly considering I had so much belly fat, it’s likely that I had excess visceral fat

  • Visceral fat is the fat that surrounds your organs and is located deeper down, beneath the abs and can’t be seen 
  • Subcutaneous fat is the other kind which is located just under the skin which is why even if you do ab workouts, you won’t see your abs if you have too much of this fat

So for me visceral fat was probably being burned in my belly area at the time and I just couldn’t see it.

That happens sometimes, and that’s where patience becomes very important.

Now, you also can’t just slap on a waist trainer and expect your belly fat to melt away.

Waist trainers do not burn belly fat.

Apple cider vinegar, teas, and diet pills also do not burn belly fat!

A lot of people will try to convince you that these things work, but take it from me, someone who has tried them all…..

It’s bullshit.

 What Will Work

So we’ve talked about what won’t work, let’s talk about what will.

If you want to burn belly fat and get your dream body this is how.

  • Eat a healthy diet
  • Exercise
  • Maintain a caloric deficit
  • Be patient

And right now your only focus may be your belly

But I am encouraging to make a lifestyle change and work towards getting healthy.

Try to change your current habits and become a better person overall.

Exercise more.

Feed your body good foods more often than bad foods

Work on your mentality.

If you do these things your body will respond.

It will begin to burn fat all over, including in your belly.

Your belly will start to get smaller and you will be changing in other areas as well.

You will become a better person on the inside and out. 

And look damn good too!!!!

And also there’s the fact that you’d be healthier overall too.

You will reduce your risk of developing other issues like heart disease, stroke and hypertension.

This is the route I recommend because for one it is proven to work, 

and two, hanging on to excess body fat just puts you at more risk and why would you want to deal with that?

Adjust your mindset from just wanting to lose belly fat to wanting to get healthy, and look good at the same time

and I promise you that in the process the belly will go too.

Now i’m not saying losing belly fat can’t be one of your goals, just don’t make it your only goal otherwise you will be disappointed when things don’t go the way you want them to

And you may be more likely to give up before you get anywhere

** I am telling you things that I wish someone had told me all those times when I tried to workout to get rid of my belly but failed.

Belly fat is very stubborn, and without making a lifestyle change you either won’t lose it, or you will but it will come right back and probably with more than before.
